In recent years, Honda and Yamaha have been actively developing their own versions of self-balancing motorcycle technology. While both companies have the same end goal in mind, they have taken different approaches to achieve it.

Honda has showcased serious demonstration vehicles and videos, as well as a more kid-friendly rideable Koraidon bike created in collaboration with the Pokémon Company. On the other hand, Yamaha's latest Motoroid2 demonstrator vehicle has a more futuristic design.

During the 2025 Endurance World Championship's Suzuka 8 Hours event, Honda unveiled the Koraidon bike in action. Videos and photos of the show run were shared on Honda's social media channels, including wind tunnel testing footage. Johann Zarco, one of the eventual race winners, was seen petting Koraidon before the race.

The wind tunnel video shows Koraidon's eyes blinking at intervals, giving it a lifelike appearance. The outrigger training wheels help with balance, while its arms and legs are more decorative than functional. Despite this, Koraidon's relatable face sets it apart from Yamaha's Motoroid2.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Koraidon. Will there be collaborations between Honda and Toyota for joint appearances? Suzuki's take on a self-balancing motorbike concept is also eagerly anticipated.
