World Record Jump on a Harley-Davidson

Many fans of FMX, motocross, and motorcycles will never forget the moment when Robbie Maddison soared 322 feet through the air on his modified Honda CR500 in 2009, breaking the world record for the longest motorcycle jump. Since then, he has surpassed his own record multiple times. However, there is another category of world-record jumps on two wheels that holds its own place in history: Harley-Davidson jumps.

Evel Knievel is credited with igniting the excitement surrounding long-distance jumps on two wheels, often riding a modified Harley-Davidson XR-750. While his records have been broken, until August 2nd, the world record for jumping a Harley-Davidson belonged to Seth Enslow at 183.7 feet.

Colby Raha has now shattered that record. At the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Raha made history by jumping his 550-pound Harley-Davidson Sportster 205 feet in Thunderdome, which is more than half the length of a football field. With a speed of around 80 mph, he launched off the ramp in front of a massive crowd.

"This jump at the Thunderdome in Sturgis embodied the spirit of Evel Knievel, a true legend in the sport. I am thrilled to have successfully landed it as part of my Record Breakers event," Raha stated. "It was a dream come true to push the limits at the Thunderdome, and I felt completely focused throughout. I am thankful for the support from Rockstar Energy and all the partners who made this world record attempt possible."

Raha is well-known for his participation in the X Games, where he won gold in the QuarterPipe High Air competition during his debut. Since then, he has earned 11 more medals and built a strong fanbase that follows his daring stunts on social media.
