Triumph's Thruxton 400 Teaser

Triumph's Thruxton 400 Teaser

For a brand that has been influencing the world of motorcycling for more than a century, Triumph has always managed to stay current. Whether it's producing bikes that dominated the Isle of Man, creating iconic two-wheelers for the big screen, or designing reliable everyday machines, Triumph has consistently balanced tradition with innovation.

Recently, Triumph has been focusing on a smaller scale with the 400 platform, developed in collaboration with Indian giant Bajaj. The Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X have already been introduced, impressing with their quality, affordability, and unmistakable "Triumph" feel despite their compact size. Now, Triumph is teasing the sportiest member of the lineup: the Thruxton 400.

The latest teaser, released by Triumph India on Instagram, showcases key features of the bike in quick succession. The video provides glimpses of the bike from various angles, highlighting the rear-three-quarter view, headlight, fuel filler cap, engine, and Triumph emblem. While it is clear that the Thruxton 400 is built on the same platform as the Speed and Scrambler 400, it leans more towards the classic Thruxton silhouette.

The underlying platform is expected to remain mostly unchanged, featuring the same 398cc liquid-cooled single engine producing around 40 horsepower. The bike will also include a steel trellis frame, 43mm USD fork, and ByBre brakes with a 300mm front disc. While the geometry may be adjusted slightly for a sportier feel, the core hardware is likely to resemble what has been seen on the Speed 400.

Will the Thruxton 400 be available in the US? While nothing has been confirmed yet, if Triumph follows the same pattern as with the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, it is likely that the Thruxton 400 will make its way to North American showrooms after its launch in India. A lightweight, stylish, and characterful bike at an affordable price point that also pays homage to heritage would be a welcome addition to the market.

With its cool appearance, approachable nature, and prestigious name, the Thruxton 400 is more than just a nod to the past. It is a bike designed to attract new riders to Triumph and to capture the attention of experienced riders looking for something fresh.
