CFMoto's 150 Aura Retro Scooter

CFMoto's 150 Aura Retro Scooter

During recent years, CFMoto, a Chinese manufacturer, has gained a reputation for producing motorcycles that exceed expectations. The brand is known for its solid engineering, strong performance, and advanced technology at an affordable price. From aggressive nakeds like the NK series to capable adventure bikes like the Ibex 450 and 800, CFMoto has been able to challenge brand bias through its products.

Now, CFMoto is applying the same successful formula to a more laid-back but equally intentional product: a retro scooter named the 150 Aura.

While vintage-style scooters are not new, the Aura stands out for its authentic retro design without being overly exaggerated. It embraces the silhouette of the 1960s with wide body panels, a tan leather-look bench seat, and round mirrors above a circular LED headlamp. The design is soft, balanced, and subtly bold, attracting attention without being flashy.

The 150 Aura is reminiscent of Yamaha's Fazzio and Honda's Giorno, drawing inspiration from vintage scooters without imitating a Vespa directly.

CFMoto did not stop at just the design. The Aura boasts impressive specifications, including a liquid-cooled 150cc single-cylinder engine producing 15.8 horsepower and 10.5 pound-feet of torque. It features a belt-driven CVT for easy operation, weighs 291 pounds, has a seat height of 30.3 inches, and is equipped with 12-inch wheels and front and rear disc brakes. Dual-channel ABS is standard.

Not only does the 150 Aura look good, but it also offers practical features for daily use. It includes keyless ignition via NFC, a 6.2-inch TFT display, fast-charging ports, tire pressure monitoring, native action cam support, and full-screen navigation through the Motoplay platform—features typically found on larger adventure-touring bikes rather than city scooters.

The 150 Aura combines vintage aesthetics with modern functionality, standing out in a market where scooters are often either bland or gimmicky. It manages to be visually appealing, functional, and attention-grabbing without compromising on usability.

While the availability of the 150 Aura outside of China is uncertain, CFMoto's global expansion efforts suggest that it may reach the US market. Would you consider riding a retro-inspired scooter like the 150 Aura daily? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
