Voge's New RR500S Motorcycle
Voge may not be a well-known brand in the United States, but its parent company, Loncin, has a long history. Loncin is a major motorcycle manufacturer in China and has supplied engines to BMW, among others. Loncin has traditionally focused on affordable bikes, particularly 500cc parallel twins inspired by Honda's CB series.
Voge was established to expand into the European market and their latest offering, the RR500S, represents a significant step forward.
The RR500S is equipped with a 475cc inline-four engine producing 76 horsepower at 12,500 rpm and capable of revving up to 14,000 rpm. This places it in the same category as the Kawasaki ZX-4RR and CFMoto's 500SR Voom. The engine features dual overhead cams, finger-follower valve actuation, a forged crankshaft, and DLC coatings on moving parts.
On the chassis side, the RR500S features a steel tubular frame, aluminum swingarm, and inverted fork. It has a wheelbase of 54.5 inches and can reach a top speed of 136 miles per hour. Nissin calipers provide braking power, and traction control is included. The bike also offers an active exhaust valve that can be manually controlled by the rider.
Voge is also planning a higher-spec version of the RR500S with additional features such as cornering ABS, tire pressure monitoring, steering damper, launch control, and a titanium exhaust.
The RR500S weighs around 435 pounds, making it slightly heavier than the ZX-4RR but still agile. In China, the price ranges from $4,000 to $4,500, but this may increase in other markets. While the engine may share similarities with other Chinese 500cc inline-fours, Voge's tuning and packaging demonstrate a more serious and performance-oriented approach.
For riders, this represents a shift towards new alternatives beyond the traditional Japanese and European brands. The RR500S offers a true four-cylinder sportbike with high-revving performance, modern technology, and a design focused on actual performance rather than just aesthetics. If it proves reliable in the long run, Voge could become a standout player in the small sportbike segment.
