Yoshimura Offers Racing and Street Exhaust Systems for the 2023 Yamaha MT-10
Many motorcycle enthusiasts would agree that Yamaha's CP4 engine, found in models like the YZF-R1 and MT-10, produces one of the best motorcycle engine sounds. While the factory exhaust note is already impressive, adding a high-quality aftermarket exhaust system can make it even more thrilling.
Depending on your riding preferences, you may want either a racing exhaust or a street setup. Fortunately, Yoshimura provides both options for the 2023 Yamaha MT-10. Both setups feature Yoshimura's AT2 muffler, which includes a carbon-fiber heel guard to add a sporty touch to the already aggressive hyper-naked bike.
The AT2 Race Series is a ¾ exhaust system that removes the bike's catalytic converter. As a result, this exhaust system is not street legal due to non-compliance with emissions and noise regulations, and is intended for track use only.
For riders who want to maintain their bike's street legality, Yoshimura offers the Street Series. This setup includes the AT2 muffler and a link pipe that attaches to the bike's stock catalytic converter. The Street Series is quieter than the Race Series and remains emissions compliant, making it legal for street use.
Those looking to maximize power from an aftermarket exhaust will likely choose the ¾ race system. Yoshimura claims that the AT2 system increases power by two percent and torque by 1.7 percent compared to the stock exhaust. This is particularly impressive for a bike that already produces over 150 horsepower. Additionally, the AT2 Race Series weighs only half as much as the stock system, reducing weight from 18 pounds to 9 pounds.
On the other hand, the AT2 Street Series is designed to enhance the bike's aesthetics and provide a more prominent exhaust note. It is a plug-and-play installation that can be completed in minutes. The Street Series also reduces weight by one pound compared to the stock muffler.
Like all of Yoshimura's products, the exhaust systems come with all necessary mounting brackets, screws, and hardware. The AT2 Race Series can be found on Yoshimura's official website with part number 13101CP520, priced at $899 USD. The Street Series, with part number 13101BP520, has an MSRP of $599 USD.
