The Future of Off-Road Riding: Talaria Unveils the Dragon

The electric off-road motorcycle scene is buzzing with excitement as new, high-performance models emerge, shaping the future of off-road riding. Sur-Ron and Cake Kalk are among the brands leading the way, and now Talaria is joining the race with its most performance-oriented model yet, the Dragon, unveiled at EICMA 2023.

The Dragon is a powerful electric enduro bike with full-sized proportions and a 21-18-inch wheel combo. Its impressive performance could set a new standard for lightweight off-road two-wheelers. While details about availability are scarce, The Pack recently published an article revealing some juicy specs and sharing photos from Talaria UK's official social media account.

Performance and Power

The Talaria Dragon is equipped with a mid-drive electric motor that delivers power to the rear wheel through a chain drive. It has a nominal power output of 10 kilowatts (approximately 13.4 horsepower) but can reach a peak power output of 28 kilowatts (38 horsepower). With the instant throttle response of an electric motor, the Dragon is a formidable beast. Its top speed is electronically limited to 110 kilometers per hour (69 miles per hour).

Battery and Range

The Dragon features an 88.8-volt, 58.5-amp-hour battery pack that offers a range of about 150 kilometers (94 miles) on a single charge, assuming an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour (15.6 miles per hour). Talaria claims a charging time of just four hours using the AC110/230V-50/60 Hz charger. The bike also offers three ride modes: Eco, Sport, and Hyper.

Off-Road Capabilities

The Dragon's off-road capabilities are enhanced by its long-travel suspension system, which includes a fully adjustable Air+Spring fork with 250 millimeters of travel at the front. The rear shock is a linkage-type setup with full adjustability. The bike rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, equipped with standard enduro/dual-sport tires. It is equipped with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes for reliable stopping power.

Pricing and Availability

Unfortunately, there is currently no information available about the pricing and availability of the Talaria Dragon. The bike has not yet been listed on Talaria's website. However, it is expected to make its official debut sometime in 2024.
