Honda's Unique NM4 Motorcycle
Honda has a history of creating unconventional and interesting motorcycles. From the practical yet quirky NC750X to the charming Cub EZ90 "motocross scooter," Honda is a brand that isn't afraid to experiment. The NM4 is another example of Honda's willingness to push boundaries, as it blurs the line between a motorcycle and a spaceship.
The NM4 was available from 2014 to 2019 and was designed specifically to attract non-motorcyclists to the world of two wheels. When I first saw this bike, I was initially confused by its otherworldly and outlandish styling, which still stands out even by today's standards. However, it's not surprising that the bike was discontinued for the 2020 model year, as it didn't sell as well as Honda's more conventional models.
The bike received a lot of criticism for its unusual design, with some reviews calling it the ugliest bike they had ever seen. Others were more forgiving, describing it as "futuristic" and "ahead of its time." In 2014, RideApart reviewed the bike and while Jesse had many positive things to say, the small luggage space (which Honda marketed as a selling point) proved to be too limited even for city riding.
Nevertheless, like other unique vehicles, the NM4 will undoubtedly appeal to enthusiasts who want to stand out. If you're one of those enthusiasts, you now have the opportunity to bid on a well-maintained 2018 Honda NM4. This bike, listed on Iconic Motorbike Auctions, has relatively low mileage of just 7,764 miles. The seller states that all maintenance has been performed by an authorized Honda dealer. Additionally, the bike comes with an extended windscreen, Givi top case, and battery tender lead.
The Honda NM4 is equipped with a 670cc parallel-twin engine, which is one generation behind the engine found in the current NC750X. It features a Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), making it suitable for beginner riders or those seeking a straightforward cruiser with unique styling. This particular bike comes with two keys, two Bell helmets in size large, a Sena X-10 communicator with a camera, two motorcycle jackets, a set of riding pants, a motorcycle cover, and a battery charger - a comprehensive package.
The bike is currently located in Ridgecrest, California, and has a clean title with registration valid until January 2024. You can view the bike on Iconic Motorbike Auctions' official website.
