Italian Motorcycle Manufacturer Beta Introduces New Alp Series
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Beta has become a staple in the off-road segment. The company recently unveiled the new and improved 450 RX, a four-stroke motocross machine designed for uncompromising performance. In addition to this, Beta's RR two-stroke range is highly regarded in the segment.
While Beta primarily focuses on enduro and motocross racing, the brand also offers bikes for all-around riders. The new Alp series, which includes the Alp X Scrambler and Alp 4.0, was recently unveiled at EICMA 2023. Beta aims to introduce a new generation of scramblers with these models, bikes that are truly capable of off-road adventures rather than just stylized to look the part.
Both the Alp X Scrambler and Alp 4.0 share the same foundation. They feature a 19-inch and 17-inch wheel combination and minimalist, modern bodywork. The bikes have long-travel suspension, but instead of fancy inverted forks, they come with regular telescopic units, adding a touch of retro style, especially in the Alp X Scrambler.
The Alp X Scrambler stands out with its round LED headlight, which surprisingly complements the bike's enduro-inspired bodywork. The exposed frame and engine enhance the bike's stripped-down appeal. On the other hand, the Alp 4.0 has a slightly higher seat height and a more rugged, off-road-focused aesthetic. Like its predecessor, the Alp 4.0 prioritizes nimbleness, lightness, and maneuverability.
Both bikes are equipped with the same technology, a 350cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that delivers 35 horsepower. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual gearbox, and an 11-liter fuel tank provides sufficient range for daylong adventures. For improved on-road performance, the bikes feature switchable ABS and built-in LED lights.
As of now, Beta has not released official pricing for these two new models. However, they are expected to be available on the market no later than December 2023.
