Gone are the days of Chinese motorcycle manufacturers solely focusing on small-displacement, appliance-like two-wheelers designed for transportation. In recent years, CFMoto has introduced new performance-oriented models that rival those of established European, American, and Japanese brands. At EICMA 2023, CFMoto showcased its most performance-oriented engine yet, an all-new three-cylinder engine.

CFMoto claims that the new 675cc engine, which is a completely new in-house project, boasts low weight and high durability. It features a low inertia crank for rapid engine response and acceleration, as well as a slipper-assist clutch for smooth downshifts and an overall smoother riding experience.

In terms of performance, CFMoto promises that the new engine will deliver a maximum torque of 68 Newton-meters and "in excess of 100 horsepower." It also has a rev ceiling of 12,300 rpm and can go from zero to 62 miles per hour in just three seconds.

To achieve a low weight, CFMoto engineered the engine from forged aluminum, resulting in a 10-percent weight reduction compared to engines from other manufacturers. It weighs just 55 kilograms, making it compact and lightweight. The engine also utilizes forged aluminum pistons for rapid throttle response.
