Royal Enfield Updates Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 for 2024 Model Year in France
Royal Enfield has introduced several updates for the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 for the 2024 model year in France. These updates include enhanced technology, revised features, and added convenience for daily rides.
Royal Enfield has been making significant progress with its lineup, and the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 have been the flagship models in the 650cc class. However, the Super Meteor 650 has recently been introduced, bringing a more modern touch to the standard and cafe racer versions. To keep up with the competition, Royal Enfield has made several hardware updates and aesthetic changes to its original 650 twins for the 2024 lineup.
One notable update is the addition of LED headlights to both bikes. The headlights maintain their round shape but now emit a bright white light, adding a premium feel to the motorcycles. However, some traditionalists may argue that halogen lights are superior.
The engine and other hardware components remain unchanged, offering classic Royal Enfield performance. The bikes are equipped with a 647.95cc parallel twin engine with a 270-degree firing order, producing 46.8 horsepower. Other features include a six-speed manual transmission with a slipper clutch, a 320mm front disc, a 240mm rear disc, anti-lock brakes, standard front forks, and dual gas shocks at the back.
In addition to the hardware updates, Royal Enfield has also refreshed the switchgear and other touchpoints on the motorcycles to enhance the overall riding experience. The handlebars and ergonomic packages remain the same, except for an updated saddle that offers improved comfort.
Another notable addition is the USB port, which may detract from the classic appeal of the 650 twins but provides a convenient feature for modern riders. The USB port is weatherproof and can be used to charge a phone.
Lastly, Royal Enfield has introduced new paint schemes and hardware options for the 2024 models. Buyers can choose from two finishes offered by the brand. There are also variants available for both models, including spoked rims, chrome engine covers, and chrome exhausts for a more classic look, or alloy wheels, black engine covers, and black exhausts for a stealthier appearance.
In France, the Interceptor 650 is priced at 7,390 EUR or approximately $7,890 USD, while the Continental GT 650 is priced at 7,690 EUR or approximately $8,200 USD. Customers in France will also receive a three-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
