Husqvarna's Latest Off-Road Bikes: A Closer Look

Husqvarna has a long history of building quality off-road bikes, starting as a brand in Sweden making rifles before transitioning to motorcycles in the early 1900s. The brand has built a strong reputation in motocross and enduro racing. Today, Husqvarna is part of the KTM group, which has faced financial challenges in recent years.

By late 2024, KTM had accumulated close to three billion euros in debt, leading to insolvency and production freezes in Austria. With Bajaj Auto stepping in with financial support, the Pierer Mobility group, including KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas, was saved from potential closure.

Despite KTM still owing over 750 million euros, every bike sold by Husqvarna is crucial for the brand's survival.

The 2026 FE 350S and FE 501S models have received updates that enhance their performance and reliability. These dual-sport bikes feature new radiator shrouds, fork guards, graphics, and fuel tank design. Suspension improvements include new settings for better damping on rough trails. The bikes also come equipped with high-quality components such as Brembo brakes, Continental TKC 80 tires, and ProTaper bars.

While the updates may not be groundbreaking, they are based on rider feedback to improve the overall riding experience. The FE 350S offers manageable power for all-day rides, while the FE 501S provides strong torque for challenging terrains.

Overall, Husqvarna's approach of sticking to proven platforms and making incremental improvements reflects a commitment to delivering reliable and capable off-road bikes. The 2026 models will be available in US dealerships in fall 2025, priced at $12,999 USD each.
