To put it in different words than Austin Powers, there are only two things I dislike in this world: nuclear war and sketchy shops. Unfortunately, the latter is prevalent worldwide, especially in the United States. These shops can range from small family-owned businesses to those operated by large corporations. The issue is distinguishing between the honest ones and the ones that will take advantage of you.

It's like rolling the dice, but you're risking potentially thousands of dollars in repairs or facing delays in getting your vehicle fixed. Modern vehicles are so complex that you might need an advanced degree just to understand how to replace the brakes. This system seems designed to exploit consumers.

However, none of this justifies the behavior of these shops.

One particular case involves a Can-Am side-by-side that was damaged and sent to Jeffries Performance in Cave Creek, Arizona. The insurance quickly paid out $26,000 for repairs, but the UTV has not been returned to its owner after 17 months in the repair shop, which is absurd.

The owner of the Can-Am Maverick X3 Max, Dustin Amann, explained that the side-by-side was damaged when he took a turn too quickly, hit a boulder, and tipped the UTV onto its side. Despite not tipping all the way over, the damage required repairs. After sending the vehicle to Jeffries Performance, the insurance paid $26,000 for the repairs. However, the UTV has been at the shop for over 17 months, which is unacceptable.

According to reports, Jeffries informed Amann that the vehicle had been moved to Luxe Motorsports after closing down Jeffries Performance. Amann was shown a picture of his wrecked side-by-side at Luxe Motorsports, where Jeffries currently works. When contacted by Arizona's Family, Luxe Motorsports declined to provide any information.

In a more recent update, Amann stated that Jeffries is holding the vehicle hostage and has added additional charges totaling $11,500 on top of the $26,000 already paid by insurance. This situation has left Amann without his side-by-side, out of pocket for repairs, and still paying off the vehicle itself.

Despite attempts to speak with Jeffries, the shop owner has refused to engage with the media. Amann expressed frustration over the situation and questioned why Jeffries was acting this way, considering his own reputation.
