AGV Revives the K3 Helmet with New Features
Italian helmet manufacturer AGV has announced the release of its newest helmet, a revival of the popular K3 model. While AGV has not released many new products recently, the K3 has been given a fresh update with a more contemporary design.
The new K3 features a new facia that gives it a touring-esque aesthetic while still maintaining its sporty appeal. The air intakes at the chin bar and the top of the helmet have been redesigned, giving it a more streamlined appearance. These changes bring the K3 closer in style to its premium sibling, the K6.
In addition to its updated design, the AGV K3 incorporates technical innovations to improve performance. The thermoplastic shell is available in three different sizes, ensuring a comfortable and tailored fit. The four-density EPS lining effectively absorbs and disperses impacts, while the contoured sides provide extra protection for the collarbone in the event of an accident. The AGV K3 is also ECE R22.06 approved, meeting the latest safety standards.
The interior of the AGV K3 is detachable and washable, with 2Dry fabric to keep the helmet fresh. It also includes grooves specifically designed for eyeglasses, adding to its overall convenience. The helmet's clear anti-scratch and anti-fog screen provides a wide field of vision, and the XQRS system allows for easy screen removal. Micro-openings increase ventilation when riding in the city, and the visor is compatible with the Pinlock 70 anti-fog film for improved vision in wet and cold weather. The helmet also features a drop-down sun visor for sunny days.
The AGV K3 helmet has a micrometric clasp chinstrap for a secure and adjustable closure, a significant improvement over its predecessor's double-D ring closure. It also includes a splash guard to prevent water or debris from entering through the bottom. The helmet is intercom-ready, making it easy to integrate with communication systems. Weighing around 1,500 grams, the size M helmet strikes a balance between comfort and safety.
The AGV K3 is available in a variety of fashionable colors, including white, matte black, matte green, red, matte grey, and various graphic options. It is offered in sizes ranging from XS to XXL to accommodate riders with different head sizes. The new AGV K3 is priced at 239.95 Euros (about $266 USD), but availability may vary by region.
